Sinking funds, made calm

Big bills,
no surprises.

SteadyJar splits every big yearly cost (car insurance, the holidays, the vet) into a small monthly amount. Set it aside, watch the jar fill, and the money is already there when the bill lands.

How it works

1

Make a jar

Give it a name, a target and the month you need the money. Car insurance, $1,200, by March.

2

Get your monthly number

SteadyJar works out what to set aside each month. The number holds still all month, so it doesn't jump around as you save.

3

Tap when you save

Moved money to savings? One tap logs it. Jars fill up, and anything coming due in the next two months is flagged.

Jars you can see

Every goal is a glass card in a Wallet-style stack, with how much is in it, how much is left and what to add this month.

📅

A plan that holds still

The monthly amount is set at the start of each month. Saving early counts toward it; it never moves the goalposts.

Questions

What's a sinking fund?

Money you set aside a little at a time for a cost you know is coming, like a yearly insurance bill or holiday gifts. Instead of one big hit, it becomes a small monthly amount. SteadyJar calls each one a jar.

Does SteadyJar connect to my bank?

No. You keep your money wherever you like (a savings account works well) and log what you set aside. That keeps it simple and private.

Where is my data stored?

On your device, in the browser's storage, and nowhere else unless you turn on backup and sync. Bank statements you scan are never uploaded.

How do backup and sync work?

In Settings, sign in with your email (no password: we email you a code). Your jars are then stored on SteadyJar's servers, run on Cloudflare, so every phone, tablet and computer you sign in on shows the same jars. Changes made on two devices at once are merged, not overwritten. Sign-in emails are sent by Resend. You can delete your account and its backup at any time in Settings.

How is the monthly amount worked out?

At the start of each month, SteadyJar takes what the jar still needs and splits it evenly over the months left before it's due, rounded up to a whole amount. What you add during the month counts toward that number.

Does it cost anything?
